When I got asked to fly to Jamaica to spend 10 minutes with one of the greatest Olympians of all time I was over the moon! We had 10 minutes to create portrait and device ads for Xoom of Usain Bolt as well as shooting alongside a commercial out on the track that he originally trained on. We flew into Kingston for the four day shoot to prepare for the heat that was to come. Avoiding the rain and humidity we came out with these sets of images below. He was such an amazing person to work with being super collaborative and having a ton of fun during the shoot. Here’s some of my favorite images from that day.
I had the opportunity to shoot the new merchant and consumer advertisements for PayPal’s new feature Instant Transfer. It was shot over two days, five production days total, in Portland with a weekend turnaround time. Thanks to the amazing team at Swift and PayPal for making this all come together so well and having me on board to shoot.
Here’s a few BTS snaps from our shoot days.
One of the coolest assignments of 2018 was when PayPal commissioned me to photograph smaller business merchant Bee Raw. The owner is a middle man for high end honey makers to sell through his brand but he likes to keep a few personal hives on this rooftop in Brooklyn.
At first I was going to stick back to shoot the bees but he walked up with another bee suit so I could get right in the action. Let me tell you, bees start to dive bomb you when you’re getting this close to the hive. I was shooting and bees were all over the camera, my hood, and sometimes even the lens.
The Bee Raw team was amazing to work with and were open to some amazing photographs. Here are my favorite from the shoot.
I had the chance to create some advertising imagery for the new product called HERE, PayPal's new mobile processor, in San Francisco last year that's just rolling out. The farmer's market themed shoot fit so perfectly for the city of San Francisco since they're all over which helped us create real life merchant transactions. Enjoy the set!
Earlier this year I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot the 2018 Campaign for Peace Out Skincare. What was really exciting was they're a newer company under Sephora which gave us a lot of freedom to set the foundation of visual imagery for the brand so we had a lot of room to play around with the creative. I had a lot of fun with the amazing crew and talented creatives at Peace Out Skincare. Shot on location in Los Angeles with the amazing model Lexi from Newmark Models.
