One of my favorite things is when I get to collaborate with an artist that I respect, especially a musician. I met Rebecca when we were both living in Sacramento a few years ago, trying to figure out what kind of artist we wanted to be, and I saw her singing at an open mic night. I knew from the way I could feel her passion through her singing that I had to work with her whether it be to photograph her or create something more in depth like a video.
Flash forward almost four years of being friends and countless album cover shoots for her work she asked me to direct her first major music video and I jumped on the opportunity.
When she sent me "Lonely" I was struck with such emotions since everyone has felt what it's like to want someone to want you but to feel alone. We came up with the idea to show the passing of time with multiple loves and how still at the end of it all there's a sense of loneliness and not feeling seen completely.
The amazing cinematographer Sean Geisterfer was my right hand man in making this for us. Below is the single cover I shot as well. Enjoy!
Here are a few Behind-the-scenes snaps from the day.
